So you've probably visited some of the big, famous national museums in your capital.
But a visit to your local, smaller museum can often be just as (or more!) rewarding. You may discover things about your local environment you never knew, or find some niche, strange objects that would never feature in a national exhibition.
There's also a chance that you can meet and talk to the local curators.
As a bonus, why not volunteer too? Most local museums need all the help they can get. Plus you'll get some great drinking stories out of it. Or, you'll be more trusted amongst your peers, so you can make up some bizarre lies about your city and they'll believe you...

The Burrell Collection in Glasgow is a brilliant example of this!
