Learn a new language

Added by Dan Zambonini on 4th June, 2008

It's never too late to learn a new language, even if it's just the basics of hello, please, and thank-you.

It can be sociable too - join a local course and meet new people (you'll be forced to talk to each other), or maybe get in contact with native speakers locally who can help you out in the pub.

Apart from local courses, you could buy some books and CDs, or start out cheaply with some online lessons.

As a challenge, why not decide to learn hello, goodbye, please and thank-you in three new languages this week? Language can keep people apart, but can also bring them together if you have the right attitude.

I've tried learning languages, and it's difficult to motivate myself because I just don't have any immediate need to do so.
